Exporting Patient Notes
Updated over a week ago

ℹ️ Patients are a last-generation feature and won't be updated as frequently. If you already use a PIMS, we recommend not creating patients in Scribenote and simply using our auto-generated note titles to keep track of which patients your medical records are for.

If you would like to export notes for a specific patient, you can do so from their Patient Notebook. Learn how to set up your notebook here:

To begin, go to your patient's profile. Here is an example for a cat named Rainy Forest:

You can use the options in the upper right corner of the note (1) to either save the note as a PDF, or email it to a specific email address. Exported PDFs look like this:

Alternatively, you can use the (1) export to email option to send the SOAP note. This is useful for sending the note to clients, referrals, or assistants. It can be sent as a webpage link or embedded directly in the email.

When you select this option, you will be able to specify an email address and some optional instructions for whoever you are sending the note to.

Exporting all SOAP notes for a patient

From the patient's profile, you also have the option of exporting all of their notes at once. To do this, use the Export All button (2).

Depending on how many notes you have, it might take a little bit of time to merge them into a .zip file, but when the process is complete you will get a file full of all that patient's SOAPs.

Exporting an entire patient notebook

You also have the option of exporting an entire patient's notebook. This will export all of their notes, key history, and patient details into one neat PDF file.

To do this, click the Export Notebook button (3) at the top of the patient's notebook. In a few seconds (or minutes, depending on the amount of notes), you'll get a PDF file wherever your downloads usually get stored.
