Why can’t I use “Acting as” to record anymore?

As part of our ongoing platform upgrade, we’ve made a change that affects users still on the old Scribenote legacy mobile app.

Updated over a week ago

Reminder: Legacy App Support Ending Soon

Support for the legacy mobile app will officially end on June 1, 2025. After that date, users will need to switch to the new app to continue creating and managing notes.

The older Scribenote App (legacy) will no longer support the ability to create recordings on behalf of another user using the “Acting as” feature. All new notes will be created under the account of the logged-in user only.

What can you do instead?

If you need to move a note to another user’s account, you can easily transfer it in two ways:

  1. Via the Web App:
Log into your account via web here: https://app.scribenote.com/, open the note, and use the transfer feature to send it to the intended user.

  2. Via the New Mobile App:
If you haven’t already, download the latest version of our mobile app. The new app fully supports note transfers.
