PIMSpal is a browser extension built for web-based PIMS platforms. With PIMSpal, Scribenote Pro users can quickly and easily transfer notes straight into their PIMS, all within the browser.

PIMSpal makes it simple to move your Scribenote notes directly into your PIMS. Follow the steps below to get set up and start using it.

    • You can log in directly from the extension.

    • Or by clicking the PIMSpal icon that appears on your screen.

  4. Find the Scribenote Icon

After logging in, you’ll notice a small PIMSpal logo floating on your screen. You can drag this icon to any position that’s convenient for you. Clicking it will expand the menu and give you access to your notes.

If the icon doesn’t appear, make sure that PIMSpal is enabled for the website you’re on. To check this:

    • Right-click the extension icon at the top of your browser window

    • Select Manage Extension

    • Adjust the Site Access settings to allow PIMSpal on that site

Using PIMSpal in Your PIMS

When you open a patient’s Exam note, or the Add Communication page in your PIMS, PIMSpal automatically recognizes which patient note you need and which section of the SOAP note you’re in.

For example, if you’re in a PIMS note for Fluffy, then the most recent note for Fluffy will automatically show. Additionally, if you are editing the Subjective section in your PIMS, clicking there will bring up the matching Subjective section from your Scribenote note. From there, you can copy the content directly into PIMS by clicking on the Import button.

Matching Notes to Patients

PIMSpal automatically finds the closest matching Scribenote note using the patient’s name. If the suggested note isn’t correct, you can manually choose a different note by clicking on the note and selecting a new one from the modal.

Notes in the Select a Note list are prioritized in this order:

  1. Notes with the patient’s name in the title

  2. Notes with the patient’s name in the body

  3. All other notes, sorted by most recent first

If you’re part of more than one team, you can also filter notes by team.

Overriding or Adding to Notes

When importing text, you’ll be asked whether you want to Override Existing Content.

  • If selected: The imported text will replace the content in that PIMS section.

  • If unselected: The imported text will be added to whatever is already written in your PIMS.

Completing the PIMS Note

Once you finish importing into your PIMS, and clicking Save in your PIMS, the note will move to the Exported tab in your Scribenote inbox. On Mobile the note will be marked with an Exported pill.
