Is There a Recording Time Limit?

Learn how Scribenote handles long recordings and tips for managing extended sessions.

Updated today

Scribenote does not impose a hard time limit on your recordings. You can record short consultations or long case discussions depending on what your workflow requires.

On the mobile app recordings will automatically pause at the two hour mark. You will hear a verbal alert letting you know the recording has paused. This helps prevent unintended recording after an appointment has ended. If you still need to continue recording you can simply restart the recording to capture additional audio by pressing the resume button.

Managing Longer Appointments

While there is no maximum duration, it's important to keep in mind that longer recordings take more time to sync and process. This can affect how quickly your note is transcribed and available for editing or sharing.

If you expect a lengthy appointment or think you will need to pause often, the Add feature can help you keep everything organized and efficient.

Using the Add button lets you:

  • Break the session into smaller, manageable clips, which are faster to upload and process.

  • Reduce the risk of delays, since shorter recordings are processed more efficiently.

  • Maintain a smooth workflow without overloading a single file.

  • Continue adding new segments to the same note, ensuring a complete and organized record.

This approach keeps your turnaround time fast while still capturing everything you need.
