Companion is your always-present AI vet assistant, built specifically for veterinary professionals. It helps with documentation, research, communication, and other administrative work so you can focus on patient care.
Ask anything, like summarize a case, draft a discharge email, or look up a dosage, and the right Companion shows up to help. Each Companion has its own specialty, and you'll find them all in the purple sidebar on the left side of your screen. Companion adapts to how you work and gets more personalized over time.
Companion works alongside any Scribenote plan and runs on Treats, a flexible credit system used each time a Companion helps you complete a task. Learn more about Treats and pricing below.

Otto, your Support Companion
Otto is your main Companion and the one you chat with by default. He can answer general questions about Scribenote, troubleshoot issues, and connect you with a human on our Delight team when you need extra support.
When a task needs specialist expertise, Otto delegates to one of the Companions below.
Summi, your History Companion
With Summi, you can upload patient records to generate clear summaries, retrieve key details, and answer questions about patient history. Learn more about Summi here:

Companion is powered by a credit system called Treats. You spend Treats as Companion completes tasks for you. Lighter tasks like a quick drug lookup or a Quill edit consume very few Treats, while heavier tasks like summarizing a full patient history with Summi consume more.
New users get 500 free Treats on signup.
There are two monthly Treat plan options, which you can purchase on the Subscription page of your Account Settings. These don't roll over into the next month, so make sure to use them up!
Munchkin: $35/month for 2,000 Treats. Suits most vets using Companion as part of their daily workflow.
Chonk: $150/month for 10,000 Treats. For power users and heavier Companion workflows.
💡 You can purchase a Treat Pack for $10 to get 500 Treats, and you can buy as many as you need. Treat Packs are available to anyone, with or without a monthly plan, and are great for topping up or for trying Companion without a subscription. Treats from Treat Packs don't expire. You can buy a Treat Pack on the Companion page of your Account Settings.
Your treat count will turn yellow when your balance is low. When it hits zero, Companion will pause, there are no automatic overage charges.

You can start a new chat at any time by returning to the main Companion screen. Click the History button at the top to view all your previous chats.
From there, you can reopen any past chat, or begin a new one by clicking the New Chat button at the bottom.
