Meet Summi, your History Companion. Summi a Beta feature, available for Pro plan users to try for a limited time, is designed to help you quickly review and summarize a patient’s medical history.
With Summi, you can upload patient records and interact with an AI assistant to generate clear summaries, retrieve key details, and answer questions about patient history. Simply upload a PDF and ask questions like “@summi what meds is the patient currently on?” or “@Summi does the patient have any existing allergies?”

Summi our History Companion is intended as a reference aid only. It should not be used to create diagnoses or make clinical recommendations.
Summi is different from client summaries. Client summaries are created after an appointment, while Summi works from uploaded patient records to help you review and summarize a patient’s medical history.
If you’d like to try Summi, just go to your Account page, open Preferences, and toggle on Companion Beta.
Getting Started
Open Summi. On the left side of the screen, open the purple Companion sidebar.
Start a new chat. Click the New Chat button at the bottom of the purple window.
Upload a patient PDF. Click the upload area or drag and drop the file into the bottom of the window. The maximum file size is 10MB.
Wait for processing. Processing time depends on file size, so please be patient. History Companion will generate a summary based on the uploaded file.
Ask clarifying questions. Type follow-up questions to retrieve specific details from the patient’s history.
You can start a new chat at any time by returning to the main History Companion screen. Click the History button at the top to view all your previous chats.
From there, you can reopen any past chat, or begin a new one by clicking the New Chat button at the bottom.
Keep in mind that Summi, our History Companion can only work with one PDF per chat. All questions you ask will be answered using the uploaded PDF as the source.
