Template Groups

Generate multiple notes from a single recording, each using its own template.

Updated yesterday

Template Groups is a Scribenote Pro feature that allows you to create up to 5 notes from one recording. This is ideal for appointments where you need different types of documentation, such as a SOAP note, a client-friendly summary, and discharge instructions.

You only need to record once. Scribenote transcribes the audio a single time and generates all notes in parallel, so everything is ready for review within seconds.

Creating a Template Group

You can build a Template Group from your Adaptive Templates page. This is a one-time setup. Once saved, the group can be used on new recordings.

  1. Click your name in the top right corner of your portal and select Adaptive Templates.

  2. Click the + icon under Template Groups, or select + New Template Group in the top right corner.

  3. Enter a name for your group (for example, “Wellness Visit Bundle”).

  4. Add between 2 and 5 templates.

  5. Drag and arrange the templates in your preferred order.

This order determines how the tabs appear in the editor. You can update the order later, but changes will only apply to future grouped notes. Existing notes will keep the original tab order, so review carefully before saving.

  6. Choose your sharing settings (private or shared with your team).

  7. Click Save.

Using your Template Group

After creating a Template Group, you can select it when recording instead of choosing a single template.

Scribenote will generate one note per template using the same recording. Each note appears separately in your inbox and is marked with a Template Group icon.

When you open one of these notes, you will see all related notes as tabs within the editor. Each note can be reviewed, approved, and exported independently.

Ungrouping a Note

You can remove a note from a group at any time.

  1. Open the grouped note.

  2. Select the tab of the note you want to remove.

  3. Click the red X in the top right corner of the tab.

  4. Confirm the action.

The note will become fully independent and will receive its own copy of the audio.
