Make Your First Note

Use Scribenote to make your first note automatically. This is Scribenote's magic!

Updated this week

Now that your Scribenote account is ready, it’s time to create your first note. You can record notes right from the web app or mobile app, both methods are outlined below. In just a few minutes, you’ll be saving valuable time with every recording.

How to make a Note using the Web App

  1. Go to the Dashboard. Go to your Account in the top right corner of your desktop. Click the arrow to the left of your name to find the dropdown menu. Select Dashboard.

  2. Pick a template. First, select a template type you would like to process the note as. Here are more details about our different templates:

  3. Start a recording. Next, press the big purple record button to start recording. If this is your first time pressing the button, you may see a menu pop-up that asks for recording permissions (make sure to allow permissions).

  4. Carry on your appointment as usual.

  5. Stop the recording. Press the Stop button at the end of your appointment. The recording will be saved to your device. Provided you have a stable internet connection, it will then automatically upload to our servers to be processed.

  6. Check your Dashboard inbox. To see your completed recording, check your inbox on the right side of the screen. You should see the first item that says Processing. That's the recording you just made! It should take about 1-2 minutes for it to be ready for Review.

  7. Review your note. When it changes to Review, you can click on it to take a look at your new note, that was made totally automatically without you having to type a single word. πŸŽ‰

Recording Tips

  • Leave your phone on a counter, upside down in your pocket (with the bottom speaker holes uncovered), or anywhere in the room where it can pick up your voice clearly. You may need to play around to find the optimal location that works for you.

  • Continue your appointment as you usually would. You don't need to dictate or worry about random unrelated chit-chat. Talk to your clients about their day, it won't end up in your note!

  • If you'd like to pause the recording, you can do so using the "Paws" button on the bottom right. Anything that you say while it's paused won't be picked up by the recording.

  • If you need to cancel the recording, press the red "Discard" button at the bottom left of the screen.

Tip: If you forgot to say something during the appointment or if you'd like to follow-up on an appointment, you can always add more information but adding another recording to the an existing recording! Here's how:
